Family Group Conferencing

This Program helps families involved with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Child Protection, to bring together natural and community support people to create a collaborative plan to meet their child's (or children's) needs.

Plans typically focus on meeting the safety needs of children and families. Plans help families make big changes (transition plans) or support families who are trying to live together again (reunification plans).

Our job is to do our best to help families make those plans by:
Helping the family look at the strengths and worries that have brought them together.
Help understand what the worries from child protection are and why they're involved.
Help families review their supports and how to make use of them - or help families come up with ideas to find supports.
Help families put a plan together that will meet the needs of the child (or children).
