About Us

At VCS, we design programs, the service environment and interactions in a way that encourages healing and promotes good mental health. Meeting people where they are and providing space that supports comfort and progress facilitates our work and provides the opportunity for positive change.

Trauma-informed care is based on the understanding that many people have experienced events that were traumatic or stressful. Supports focus on  peoples' strengths and experiences.

Staff receive ongoing professional development to ensure services meet individual needs as effectively as possible.

We are governed by a Board of Directors, composed of local citizens who volunteer their time and expertise to oversee the operation of the society.
