NEW!! Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors (TAPS) Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:   This is a unique opportunity to lead a program that makes a difference in the lives of seniors. The TAPS activity program provides social, emotional, physical and recreational support for older adults at risk of isolation.   This sole charge position is responsible for all aspects of TAPS program delivery.  This position is responsible for data collection, reporting, management of staff and facility.

WAGE:  $28.00/hour DOE for 32 hours/week, 4 days per week, Permanent

START DATE: September 9, 2024

QUALIFICATIONS:  The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Occupational Therapy or related field and two years recent experience or a combination of related education and experience. Graduation from a recognized geriatric recreation coordinator program an asset.

POSITION SUMMARY:   Valley Community Services Society is a dynamic, multi service agency. We provide trauma-informed service for a variety of individuals and families. VCS provides a flexible, person-centered employment experience for staff who work as part of a collaborative team with onsite individual clinical supervision and support. We have one position available providing 25-30 hours per week of in-office and outreach mental health support to children, youth, adults and families.

WAGE:  $31.00-35.00/hour dependent upon experience and education and includes extended health benefits and 5% employer contribution to retirement savings after probation period.

START DATE: ASAP

 

QUALIFICATIONS:   Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred, in a relevant discipline and experience.  Preferred ability to be registered or licensed with an appropriate provincial body.
