Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors (TAPS) Cook/Kitchen Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:  Provide home-style delicious, nutritious meals using local produce and donations 4 days/week in a family setting for up to 40 seniors. Manage all aspects of a commercial kitchen and manage volunteers.  Must provide Criminal Record Check and be fully vaccinated.

WAGE:  DOE

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Food Safe certificate.

  • Red Seal preferred.

  • Experience working with volunteers and seniors.

  • Experience cooking in commercial kitchen.

  • Experience with special dietary concerns of seniors.

  • Knowledge of nutritional needs of seniors.

Better at Home-   Housekeeping Contractor

POSITION SUMMARY:  Wage:  $25.00 per hour  Position Type: Permanent (Contracted)

Hours of Work: 2-3 days/week with possibility of additional work

DESCRIPTION:  This position provides light housekeeping for seniors living in their own homes. Housekeepers organise schedules with individual seniors and work under the direction of the Better at Home Coordinator. Housekeeping services are typically provided twice per month for approximately two hours per individual.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Criminal Record Check

  • Preferred experience working with vulnerable adults/seniors

  • Business Liability insurance

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  Light Housekeeping cleaning duties can include, but not limited to:

  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms

  • Clean kitchens counters, cabinets, touch surfaces

  • Sweep and wash floors (Laminate and Tile)

  • Vacuum carpets, area rugs

  • Empty and dispose of garbage and recycling

  • Clean windowsills, windows/glass doors as needed

  • Wipe down walls and door surfaces, as needed

  • Clean and sanitize door handles and other high touch surfaces

  • Change bed linens and wash laundry when required

  • Other cleaning duties as requested that fit within the capabilities of the program and the contractor

  • Attend contractor information meetings 3-4 times a year
