Social Prescribing Day 2026!

As a proud community partner delivering United Way British Columbia’s Social Prescribing Program, we’re excited to join the celebration of #SocialPrescribingDay!

Doctors already prescribe medicine for what ails us. Did you know they can prescribe social support, too?

It’s called social prescribing: prescriptions for the things that keep us well.

A prescription for transportation, a prescription for housing support, a prescription for food security, a prescription for health and fitness, a prescription for getting out in nature.

At United Way BC, our Social Prescribing Program helped 6,597 seniors through 56 community agencies, delivering 51,382 non-medical services in 2024–25.

Social prescribing helps people get the supports they need to live well.

This Social Prescribing Day, we’re celebrating the community programs that make this possible.

Thank you!
